Chrissy Teigen opens up about her fertility struggle

We all know that Chrissy Teigen has been owning Twitter ever since she logged on in 2009. So with the news of her second pregnancy out this week, we’re celebrating all things-Chrissy!

She has always been upfront and honest about her pregnancy. Even going so far as to document her losing an embryo during her IVF treatment two years ago. The second embryo she implanted was her daughter Luna. It is now believed that her current pregnancy is a result of her third and final embryo.

But it’s not all fun and games for the celebrity couple. In an interview in 2016, she opened up about how hard it was to get pregnant, even when she and singer husband John were both healthy.

“The big question was why this wasn’t working for us when I was young and he was healthy,” Teigen told SELF magazine about her inability to become pregnant. “I thought, people get pregnant by accident all the time! How does this happen?”

“Emotionally, it could be really hard,” she said. “When you have these high-highs and low-lows, and you’re, like, cuckoo pants.”

“You don’t want to get your hopes up, but of course, you do,” she explained.

With more women becoming pregnant at a later age it’s no wonder that the number of people going through IVF is growing too. This is why it’s so refreshing to hear from a prominent person about how hard it is to conceive even when you’re doing everything right.
