Mum inspirational stories of the week…
Mum of four Natasha shared her story of finding her 11-week-old baby daughter Ava-Mai blue and as ‘floppy as a rag doll’ after she had put her down for a nap.
Ava-Mai’s eyes had rolled to the back of her head and she was completely unresponsive.
Quick-thinking mum Natasha – who had never had any sort of medical training before – did all she could to get her daughter breathing again.
She told the Express online: “I started doing my version of what I thought was CPR to just sort of get her going again which seemed to work.”
“It was purely maternal instinct to get Ava-Mai breathing again really.
I just did things I’d seen on the telly on Casualty and all those real-life documentaries.”
An ambulance arrived after a 36 minute wait and Ava-Mai was taken into intensive care but for Natasha and husband Karl, the traumatic experience wasn’t over yet.
