Brave mum shares her experience of miscarriage

Miscarriages are a delicate and sensitive topic. It is hard to come up with words to console someone who has experienced a miscarriage but there are certain phrases to avoid. “You weren’t’ that far along”, “the baby wasn’t real yet””, or ““it’’ll get better”” these phrases may seem comforting but could actually be really hurtful. Instead try saying “I’m sorry for your loss” or “I’m here if you need anything”.

One in five pregnancies end in miscarriage; averaging 14,000 a year in Ireland alone. Tommy’s baby charity has recently launched a #misCOURAGE campaign to raise awareness for the issues of miscarriages.

In this powerful video, a brave woman named Rosie speaks out about her two miscarriages and the emotions that came along with each one.
