10 signs your mum is superwoman

10 signs your mum is superwoman, mums, 10 signs your mum is the best
10 signs your mum is superwoman

This week at maternity & infant we are celebrating all the fantastic mums out there, and want to recognise them in our #nukmumoftheyear award at the 2015 maternity & infant awards. We’ve decided to take a look at all the reasons why mums really are the superwomen we know them to be.

1. She never got a minute to herself:

This one is probably still happening! She is superwoman! She’s on the phone, organising, cooking dinner and ironing uniforms, sometimes all at the same time! We hope the superpower is hereditary?!

2.She always found the stuff you lost, even though you looked ten times, really:

How did she always find it! How?!

3. She put you first, always:

When we say always, we mean always. Getting dressed and ready in the mornings, you. Dinner in the evenings, you. She sorted everyone out before herself, and a selfless love like that is never forgotten.

4. She lost sleep. A lot of it:

If you’re a now a mum yourself, you definitely know about this one.Thank her right now!

5. Her home cooked meals still make your mouth water:

Still to this day your mouth waters at the thought of her delicious Sunday roast, or her Saturday morning frys. Get us home quick!

6. Whatever was wrong, she fixed it:

Whether it was zippers, worries, broken toys or broken hearts, your mum fixed it. And she fixed it well.

7. You respected her:

When you were a kid and you asked to do something or to go somewhere with your friends (that you probably knew was unsafe or going to be a no anyway), and your mum said no, you probably ‘hated’ her. But the rules she set for you as a child have shaped you as an adult, and have instilled a deep routed respect in you for her and for her guidance, that you will instil in your children as a mother yourself.

8. She prepared you for life’s bumps:

You may not have known it, but your mum prepared you for the big bad world. She made you do chores, help out, taught you manners and how to stick up for yourself, and helped you set standards for yourself, something now invaluable to you today.

9. She looked after your health:

That broccoli was pretty gross when you were a kid, and you hated it when she wrapped you up in layer after layer and another for good measure, but aren’t you glad she did now!

10. She did all the little things that were actually big things:

Whether you noticed it or not, and let’s be real, when you’re young who does?, she was the one that made sure the milk was in the fridge, the uniforms and clothes were clean, the toilet roll was in the bathroom, made sure you woke up every day for school and all the little things in between, that only until you live by yourself or have a family of your own, make you realise that they take some planning. She’s amazing!
If your mum sounds just like the superwoman above, and you want to give back to her and celebrate her years of love, care and devotion to you and your family, nominate her for the NUK Mum of the Year award at this year’s maternity & infant awards here: www.maternityandinfant.ie
