Summer can be filled with long, lazy days and mornings spent lying in, but remember to throw in a few fun-filled activity days to make it a season your kids will remember. Here are just a few of the best days out Ireland has to offer.

Tayto Park

Since opening in 2010, Tayto Park has become one of the country’s top days out. Complete with zip lining and a roller coaster to interest older children as well as a zoo, dinosaur park and playground, kids of all ages continue to adore this park. Plus they have a new Viking Water ride open this summer that is sure to interest people who have already been before…

Dublin Zoo

Dublin Zoo keeps on getting better and better every year, with new additions like the orangutan bridge that has delighted customers since last year. Last week, Zoorassic World opened in the zoo which will be the new home for the zoo’s reptile family. Complete with dinosaur skeletons and various new reptiles it’s sure to impress visitors.

Newgrange Farm

Just down the road from Slane lies one of Ireland’s leading working farms open to the public. Let your children hold a chick, or milk a cow while learning about how the farm works and how the animals are cared for. Open from March 17th to September 3rd, 2017.

Airfield Estate and Farm

There’s always something to see at Airfield because as the season’s change, the estate does too. Pop down for a visit and partake in one of the daily activities on offer such as egg collecting or calf feeding, or drop in for their scheduled craft days especially for kids this summer or simply go for a guided walk through the park. Enjoy a beautifully cooked lunch or afternoon tea in the Overend’s restaurant to complete your visit.

Lough Boora Parklands, Birr, Co Offaly

For some bracing fresh air on the bikes or just somewhere to hike around, head to Lough Boora Parklands. This park has numerous trails for all ages and abilities, as well as a cafe, a picnic area and free parking.
