9 things you need to know about your toddler

Toddlers are a law unto themselves, and the sooner parents know that the better. Here are 9 things we know about toddlers that will definitely make your life better for knowing (or is ignorance still bliss? Maybe).

Alt-toys

Actual toys? They are no fun. Your toddler would much rather play with anything else such as, but not limited to your phone, charger, keys and wallets to name but a few. Not to mention pots and pans!*

*Ear plugs work wonders.

Don’t lose THE cup

Your toddler will undoubtedly pledge undying allegiance to their one, very special, very specific beaker or sippy cup. They will then refuse to drink out of any other container.

Keep your house keys in a safe place

Because if they choose to hide anything they will, without fail, go for the house keys.

Always check if they need the bathroom

They will time their poos perfectly. Just after you’ve left the house is perfect for them.

10 weird things only parents do

What does hungry mean?

They can actually be hungry for different things. “I’m not hungry for lunch, I’m hungry for chocolate.”

Their sleep routine will change routinely

Sleep patterns should always be inconsistent. If they’ve been doing one thing for a while, it’s time to change it up, after all these are the rules toddlers live by.

Don’t mention the ‘B’ word

They will refuse all participation with, and deny any understanding of the concept of ‘bedtime’.

Repetition is my middle name

When someone does something funny, they insist they repeat it again and again and again. And again.

Applaud me

When they do anything, they will clap for themselves. Go on you deserve it! (We actually do love this one).
