Parents kissing children on the lips “confusing” them

Dr. Charlotte Reznick’s claims about parents kissing their children on the lips earlier this week has caused quite the stir with parents all over.

Dr. Reznick, author of ‘The Power of Your Child’s Imagination: How to Transform Stress and Anxiety Into Joy and Success’, made the claim earlier this week, stating that kissing your children on the lips is “confusing” to them, suggesting that as the mouth is an “erogenous zone”, the kiss on the lips can be “stimulating”, and kissing children this way will lead to confusion due to sexual connotations:

“The kiss on the lips can be stimulating…It’s just too confusing. If Mommy kisses Daddy on the mouth and vice versa, what does that mean when I – a little girl or boy – kiss my parents on the mouth? If I had to answer when to stop kissing your kids on the lips, it would be now,” she commented.

People have taken to their social media to voice their disagreement with the doctor, one Twitter user calling the claim ” hysterical rubbish”:

We think the claim is a little bizarre. What do you think of Dr. Reznick’s claims?
