Be adventurous – try a new taste everyday!

capture the moment. Make eating fun by enjoying every messy moment!

double up on wipes, muslins, bibs and outfit changes!

every child is different, just take it step by step

fun! Trying new foods should be fun!

grate food, then boil and mash it, it helps avoid any nasty lumps.

help! Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you’re struggling or running out of ideas.

just take it slowly. Your baby needs time to get used to each new food.

keep going. Sometimes it can be frustrating but keep calm and carry on.

learn basic first aid. You probably won’t need it but it’s always best to be prepared.

mealtimes. Try and eat together as a family so your baby can learn from you.

new. Try something new every couple of days to provide a good range for baby’s palette.

organisation. Batch cook and freeze food so you always have something ready.

practice. Let your little one practice feeding independently with a weaning spoon.

routine. Be organised and offer meals at the same times each day.

season! Make the most of all the delicious fruits currently in season. It’s also great fun to pick and choose your own seasonal fruits from your local farm shop.

take bibs with you when you go out. Disposable bibs are super handy!

use your imagination. Create different meals and make fun food with different shapes and even, pictures!

visible. It’s important to keep your little ones in sight at all times while feeding.

wait until your baby is ready. That could be 6 months but could be later, follow your baby’s lead.

Example. Leading by example, if your baby sees you enjoying healthy foods, they are likely to follow.

yummy! Don’t let your little one see you be put off by certain foods, baby is likely to follow your lead so try everything with them and be positive about all foods!

zzz All aspects of parenting can be tiring but are lots of fun!
