5 things you should never say to a stay-at-home parent

Being a parent is a full time job, if you are a stay-at-home parent or a parent who goes out to work. You’re all deserving of praise, but sometimes stay-at-home parents are given the stereotype that they much have a calm and easy life. We’re here to tell you that that is not the case and lay down the 5 things you should never say to a stay-at-home parent.

Never say things like…

1). “I could never be a stay-at-home parent.” Why must you say these things to us?

2). “Parenting just isn’t enough for me!” Am I less complex than you? Am I contented just with finger painting and Peppa Pig? Just because I am a stay-at-home parent, doesn’t mean I don’t fill my day with other things.

3). “How can you afford to not work?” Unless we are very close, do not ask this question. I could scrimp pennies for all you know!

4). “Doesn’t it ruin your career prospects?” I have made the decision to stay at home and rear my children, this is what I have chosen to do.

5). “Do you not feel like you have become a Mam/Dad and nothing else?”. No. Children are the most fulfilling things and fill us with joy every day, but we also fill our time and concious with other things.
